Hi, I’m Robin Graham. I got my start as a freelance writer in the early 90s after receiving my bachelor’s degree in English from Cleveland State University. During an internship at a business newspaper my last semester at CSU, I wrote a profile of a woman who owned her own business theater production company, who subsequently hired me to write speeches for four product managers for what was then known as Nestlé Dairy Systems. I wrote about Butterfinger bars, Nestlé Crunch bars, and Drumsticks. From there I began writing for corporate, production company, and independent producer clients, writing speeches, scripts, all kinds of print pieces, and later, Web and multimedia.
In 1997 I moved to Milwaukee and continued freelance writing. I began taking on editing projects, including book editing. I also earned a master’s degree in English from Marquette University. My first bachelor’s degree is from Bowling Green State University.
Today my marketing writing and editing businesses continue to thrive, I’ve got three years of college-level teaching in English under my belt, and since June 2011 have been devoting more and regular time to fiction and essay writing. I am a member of the Association of Writers & Writing Programs, the Modern Language Association, and try to make it to as many MKE Creatives meetings as I can. I am a past member and board member of Media Communications Association – International (going back to the ITVA days).
Dude in the background in the picture up there is the somewhat reluctant co-star of my blog, although he hasn’t asked me to stop writing about him yet: my husband John. Other cast members so far include: Ohio girlfriends Sally and Jan; brother Eric; and father Jim.
